PHIS will display one of the two different methods IPP use to sign export documents after the Approve and Sign button is selected. This section covers the second part of the Export Certification Task to sign, print, upload, and complete the task. Video step-by-step instructions are included to show how to do these steps in PHIS for each signature method.
*Instructions regarding use of PHIS for Export Certification are frequently changing. Always refer to PHIS and the FSIS Export Library to determine the appropriate signature method for each importing country. Currently, none of the 149 countries active in PHIS require manual signatures on certificates printed on FSIS security paper (all require digital signatures on certificates printed on standard white paper). Therefore, there is no uploading of completed signed certificate packages into PHIS. However, this does not preclude that some countries may revert to manual signatures in the future, so be sure to stay current on the most recent FSIS Notices addressing export certification.
