OFO and State nominations are to be entered in the Registration Application (Syberworks) by OFO District Resource Coordinators or State POCs. Nominations from all other program areas are to be submitted to CFL Class Registration on the attached Excel spreadsheet through Outlook. Please include the employee’s full legal name. Week One of the PHV class begins on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 9:00 am ET. (8:00 am CT, 7:00 am MT, and 6:00am PT)
Week Two of the PHV class ends on Friday, December 11, 2025, at 6:00 pm ET. (5:00 pm CT, 4:00 pm MT, 3:00 pm PT)
The class starts at 9:00 am ET and ends at 6:00 pm ET on each day of the training.
Course Overview
The. Public Health Veterinary training program includes the Inspection Methods course. Public Health Veterinary (PHV) participants enrolled in this class must previously have attended an Inspection Methods (IM or VIM) class.
These two weeks (9 days) will consist of online training and will focus on FSIS as a public health regulatory agency and animal dispositions/food safety.
In-plant Mentoring
The three weeks (or more) following the classroom training will consist of in-plant mentoring. All scheduling for these weeks will be completed by the respective districts. This training will be conducted by a District veterinarian mentor who has attended PHV Mentor training.
The Final Week of the PHV course consists of online training which begins on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 9:00 am ET – Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:00 pm ET. The class starts at 9:00 am ET and ends at 6:00 pm ET on each day of the training. The Final Exam will be on Friday, January 9, 2026, during the hours of 8:30 am – 4:00 pm ET.
Course Logistics
Prior to the class, CFL will provide the POCs with instructions to share with participants. POCs must provide this information to the students prior to the start of the class. In addition, CFL will send the Microsoft Teams access information and other course information to participants. Participants should test the functionality of their government-issued computer and other equipment prior to the beginning of the class.
